Meet Njord 

Our most advanced underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) ever.  

Full six degree of freedom thrust vectoring for complete maneuverability.
Two multi-axis grippers with tuned grip strength to avoid injuries and damage to corals and other sensitive marine ecosystems.
Fully situational awareness through four HD cameras. 
Ambidexterous movement and advanced current and wave stability drive modes through our all new fully custom flight contol system.

Like it's older siblings, Europa and Scylla, Njord is heading to meet its brethern from around the world.  This year in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

Advanced Robotics

Triton Robotics is a passionate high-school team specializing in designing and building custom underwater ROVs. Our ROVs and floats are designed to function in extreme conditions with enhanced stationkeeping, drive modes, and multi-axis manipulators. Our ROVs and Floats have won multiple awards and we have advanced the Maine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) ROV World Championships each of the past three years (2024-2026).

Teamwork and Skills Development

Our hands-on approach encourages students to develop essential teamwork and technical skills. We use an iterative design process that features rapid prototyping, testing, identification of failure modes, and redevelopment. 

We are a small, independent team that works closely together. Every member actively participates in all aspects of the work, learning about robotics, engineering princinples, programming, public speaking, and technical writing.
